Great pyramids of Giza

On the necropolis at Giza are standing, one next to another, the three largest pyramids of ruler of IV dynasties: Keops, Kephren and Mikerin. The Largest of them, Keops , is 145 meters high. That is at the same time the highest pyramid in whole Egypt. Every side of her basis is 233 meter long, and angled edge which connects the top the pyramid and top of the basis is 220 meters long. In primary condition pyramid has been coated and specially created blocks of the white limestone. It is no wonder why great pyramids of Giza are included in ancient seven wonders of the world! They are really spectacular!

Why has been chosen seven new wonders of the world ?

Two thousand years Ago Greek structural engineer and artist Filons have added in ancient seven wonders of the world these "wanders": hanging gardens of Sulfonamides in Babylon, Colossus on the Rhodes, sculpture of Zeus in Olympia, Artemis temple in the Ephesus, Lighthouse in Alexandria, Mausoleum in Halikarnas and great pyramid of Giza,which is the only of all seven authentic wonders of the world preserved for today's generations.The fact that today exists yet only one of all the seven ancient and natural wonders of the world encouraged the Swiss artist and museologists Bernard Weber to starts the Election for new seven wonders of the world. Weber started that initiative in 2001. , and the goal of that action was to " create new original seven wonders of the world which will be a new symbols of the entire world ". besides that, purpose of that action was to achieve a protection of architectural heritages and the architectural skill of mankind.

New seven wonders of the world was choosen between 20 finalist - Acropola (Greece), Alhambra (the Spain), AJA Sofia (Turkey), Angkor (Cambodia), Chichen Itza (Mexico), Eiffel tower (France), Temple Kiyomizu (Japan), Kremlin and Cathedrals of holy Vasily (Russia), Sculpture of Christ Ransomer (Brazil), Coliseum (Italy), Mach Picchu (Peru), Castle Neuschwanstein (Germany), Peter (Jordan), statue of Liberty (USA), Stonehenge (Great Britain), Sydney Opera House (Australia), Taj Mahal (India), Timbuctu (Mali), sculptures on the Easter island (Chile) and the Great Wall of China (China). the jury composed of seven internationally well-known architects gived a vote for new seven wonders of the world , presided by former chief executive officer of UNESCO Federica Mayora of Zaragoza.
Selection started in Geneva, 17. November last year, and your new seven wonders of the world vote, could you send via Web site New7Wonders.Com or via SMS, all up to last month when election which had a respond of around 70 millions of people from all over the world is closed. Although between 77 nominated wonders from around the world, which has bin selected by more than 20 millions of users of Internet, just 21 finalist was selected, pyramids from Giza was removed from the selection.
